Lough Ree has three inner lakes, each with its own fascinating flora and fauna. Get to know them in your own time as you soak up the sights, sounds and stunning panoramas.

Boat Hire

Two Hour Taster: 10am – 12noon or 12.15 – 2.15pm / 2.30 – 4.30pm or 5pm – 7.00pm / €85
Half Day Hire: 10am – 2pm or 2.30pm – 6.30pm / €150

Picnic with Prosecco: €80 for 2 people

Available to book from late March – mid-October

A €500 damage deposit is charged to your account and refunded when your boat is returned in its pre-rental condition.

Boat Trip on Lough Ree & River Shannon

Departing from our jetty at Wineport Lodge take in the local sites and beautiful scenery with your Captain, Pearse Connell on a Boat Trip of Lough Ree and River Shannon.

This boat tour takes in the “Forgotten Lake” of Lough Ree. Entering narrow channels between high reeds, explore the wildlife and bird life, spotting Kingfishers, Whooper Swans and Black Tailed Godwiths, the Meadow Brown & Common Blue Butterfly and of course the Mayfly. 

Visit the inner lakes of Ballykeeran, Killinure and Garnafailagh, before passing Coosan Point and heading out onto the main lake. Sit back, enjoy the trip, perhaps bring a glass of wine and a few snacks on board, and enjoy the chat with Pearse, your skipper, before returning to Wineport Lodge.

Choose from our easy to drive Whaly Boat with a powerful 25 hp engine, or the silence of the all-electric Ruban Bleu picnic boat.

Wineport Lodge Day Guests are welcome to experience our easy-to-drive Whaly Boat with a powerful 25-hp engine. 

Max of 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children.

Pricing:

2 hours – €100 | Half Day (11 am – 3 pm or 3.30 pm – 7.30 pm) – €200 | Full Day – €300 

Add a Picnic for Two – €80 with Prosecco / €125 with Champagne

Please note, for day guest hire, proof of ID and a €500 deposit are required.
